Headed in the right direction....

Tomorrow Janeen will be transported to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, to begin radiation and further rehab.

A very special doctor was able to contact MD Anderson and within hours’ time Janeen was admitted and under the care of Dr. Charles Conrad, one of the best Neuro-Oncologists in the country.

Janeen remains strong and is holding her head high. She is anxious to arrive so that she can begin treatment and complete her road to recovery successfully and return home as soon she is able. We are told that treatment and rehab could take as long as 7 weeks.

Your thoughts, prayers, emails, comments and messages will continue to lift Janeen’s spirits and provide encouragement, so please keep them coming! We will update you with her temporary address and more information as soon as it becomes available.

It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle...
-Psalm 18:32-34

  3. Janeen,
There hasn’t been a day that has past that you haven’t been in our thoughts and prayers, and it will continue to be that way until you are home and fully recovered from everything you’ve been through. You always have been, and always will be, such an incredibly strong individual, and no matter what, never lose your positive attitude and for sure never lose your beautiful smile. God never gives us more than we can handle, and although this has been something that you, your family and friends wish you never would have had to go through, God will continue to be there with you and pull you through each and every step along the way. We will especially be praying for you today as you make your trip to Houston, and will continue to pray for you as you are taken care of by the best doctors and nurses that you could ever ask for.
    Much love,
    Erin & Doug Lurvey

You are so strong and so brave. We have been praying for you, John, and the girls everyday and know you will fight hard to get back to them fast! There is not a day that goes by that we have not thought about you. Please stay strong, keep that smile on your face, and know that this chapter will soon be closed and you can go back to that crazy life of a baseball players wife! For now, relax and stay strong!

  8. Janeen,

We are wishing the best with your transfer. More importantly we hope that your recovery is speedy. I imagine it won't come without pain and tears but, we are all rooting for you. It sounds like you will be in the care of amazing doctors, nurses and therapists. Good luck and we'll be waiting to hear about your progress.

  9. I love the part about "training your hands for battle". Battle it out you will, Janeen! But you are not alone. All these people are praying, your family is surrounding you in love, and your God is with you!

  11. Janeen,
You probably don't know me, but my husband's cousin (Cory) just told me about your recent diagnosis. Please know that we will be praying for you and your family. We also are very familiar with cancer after a very close friend (young mother of two) was diagnosed with colon cancer. We TRULY understand the power of prayer and I just wanted to let you know we are praying. Fight with all your might girl!! God Bless!!!
